My Story: The laundry business is very challenging

Been there, done that.

I was plant manager (120 employees), VP of Sales (increasing sales from € 15 to € 30 million), and CEO of six plants with € 70 Mio.

My challenge was that everyday work hindered you from improving your business. There are too many urgent issues. One important employee quits, a customer has some pressing need, a machine breaks down...

... at the end of the year, you are unsatisfied with the progress.

I was desperate to find solutions to the problems - and my wife can testify that it was often quite challenging. So, yes, we achieved a lot, but it was very hard.

Often my desk was really a mess and I had an enormous workload to perform, because I was delegating too less.

What started to change everything was the book "Managing-Performing-Living" by Fredmund Malik and further study of beneficial concepts. Last but not least Lean Management.

This enabled us to teach our plant managers and team leaders and apply structure to their daily work. The results are increased quality and sales, empowerment of the team, and reduced costs.

As I am consulting the industry, I see that many entrepreneurs and managers have similar challenges. My goal is to make an contribution to the industry to increase success AND enjoy family live. You deserve it.
